DUI accident, girl in critical condition

A 14-year-old girl from LaGrange, GA is fighting for her life after she was ejected from a vehicle driven by her mother who was allegedly driving drunk.

According to Georgia State Patrol, the mother was driving a 2004 Lexus ES330 when she lost control of the vehicle around 2 a.m. on West Point Road in Troup County, south of LaGrange. Apparently the car flipped and her daughter was ejected. Law enforcement claims she was driving drunk when the wreck occurred.

Her daughter was life flighted to Egleston Hospital for Children in Atlanta after suffering critical injuries to her spine.

According to the Troup County Sheriff’s Office, the mother was held on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol, serious injury by vehicle, failure to use a safety belt, and failure to maintain lane. The Georgia State Patrol is handling the accident investigation.
